Description
Hi,
I'm looking to start a new punk band. Pretty much, I don't mind however well you can play (though obviously experience is great) so long as you are keen. My only real requirement is that, as I'm 22, you be around early to mid twenties.
To be honest, when I say 'punk', it isn't necessarily all that punky - it's more the attitude behind it that I care about. I want to make music that says something, that engages with society and with politics and stuff like that - for the first time in ages I feel involved in the politics of the day - Brexit, and the slow folding-in-on-itself of Labour, and Trump, and the attacks in France, they all make me want to get up and say something. So, if you care (and a sort of left-wing inclined) then it'd be cool to write and play with you.
Saying that though, if it happens to sound like The Clash, or The Jam, or The Skids at the same time, that's no bad thing. Like the idea of spiky distorted guitar, hammering drums, and big bass lines. But I've also played in ska, jazz, folk, indie and dreampop bands - I like most things.
Anyway, hopefully that doesn't sound too ranty for an ad... Let me know if sounds cool to you, and we can get a pint sometime and have a jam. I'm in Blackheath but would probably rehearse somewhere central,
Sam
